About Mississippi College

Mississippi College, also referred to as simply MC, is a private, Christian university located in Clinton, which is a city in the US state of Mississippi, in Hinds County, with a population of more than 23 000 inhabitants, which makes it the 10th largest city in the state.

The college was established in January, 1826, and it is the oldest college in the state and the second-oldest Baptist affiliated university in the world. It currently offers its students pre-professional and professional programs, with over 80 undergraduate options, as well as graduate study, continuing education and a law school.

Athletics

MC's athletic teams call themselves the Mississippi College Choctaws and they currently compete in NCAA Division III, for 16 sports. Since their transition to NCAA D III, they have won a total of 25 American Southwest Conference championships, and, in 2007, they also won conference championships in women's cross country and men's basketball.

The distinctive colors of the Choctaws are blue and gold.
